History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. John was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it.

Personality: He likes to fabricate stories about his past exploits and how crazy he is, but in actuality he is rather bland. He works hard and plays hard.

History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the west. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying west to reunite his family. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Many dire rats want him driven away.
