History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Bernard grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Bernard. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. Dustin enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His father was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He wants revenge against orcs; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Diggory grew up listening to his mother's many stories. Ostracized due to the divine powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
