History: Gerald hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Gerald alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

History: Nicholas was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His father worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled father and took his father's old job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and to reunite with his absent father
