Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. He is obsessed with finding treasure.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is a Painter first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. He disdains his fellow westerners, claiming they make him look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: Gunter hails from a village terrorized by giants. Gunter was born on a far western desert where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Painter. He's also a talented Sailor, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and someone believes him a fraud

History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the south. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and a deep hatred of giants

Personality: He never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. As long as the job gets done he does not care how it got done.

He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
