Personality: John is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. He cannot resist a sob story and will often dote over anyone who has one.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, John grew up listening to his father's many stories. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He also has developed a complete distrust of the Animal Trainer profession.

History: Gomory lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Like his father and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Painter. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister.

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He is submissive, is generally bored by everything, but will take part in whatever people ask of him. He is by nature obliging.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Miles fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
