History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He has recently attracted an admirer that believes he's playing hard to get.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A freak accident while working with his Painter father left him crippled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He feels kind of lost in life; and doesn't want to be a gardener and was forced into it by his family

History: Born in the west to a Bricklayer, Aldous learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
