He was preparing to flee to the north, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying north to reunite his family. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He tends to his Detective job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.
