History: Born in the south to a Spy, Balimaar learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He found a children's book about a Human Fighter who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature dagger.

History: Gerard lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Gerard was born on a far western island where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Laborer. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: Many dire rats want him driven away; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it
