History: Patrick hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Patrick alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Cursed with unlife at a very young age, Everard has worked very hard to control his curse. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world; and to prove his worth to the world
