His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He is searching for what he claims is his rightful reward.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found; and doesn't want to be a barber and was forced into it by his family

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He is lazy and tries to find solutions quickly.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Bertram grew up listening to his mother's many stories. He moved out south to avoid the crime he committed. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. He was reprimanded several times before being given his current form and forced to learn humility.

Motivation: Expand his business; and he is a bit of a kleptomaniac

He worked as a Spice Merchant, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Spice Merchant and was forced into it by his family.
