He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. His first spouse was a Unemployed, they had one son, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Priest. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Personality: He is a very philanthropic person; he spends his free time working at various soup kitchens. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Bertram and his spouse have recently divorced.
