History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his father. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Gilbert alone in the world. History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Ostracized due to the necromantic powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He has worked as a Courier like his father before him.

History: Born in the west to a Banker, Adelard learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He desires power and/or immortality.
