History: A child with a great deal of writing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Adelard grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Adelard. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Personality: He hates brigands. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is a logical person and will generally grow upset if things defy logic and science.

History: His divine talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, brigands burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the north, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying north to reunite his family. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He wants revenge against brigands.

Personality: He is witty, but his monotone delivery comes off as unnerving He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: Anthony lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: Wants his loneliness to end; and wants a kiss

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
