When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He is a Doppelganger in disguise. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Human companion (his 'brother'). He has never given up on his painting dream.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.
