Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He pushes his goals aggressively. He is also a coward if confronted.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. Through the years after Roland was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Roland's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Roland and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this western guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. He is fiercely devoted to his mother, and views his mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Bookbinder responsibilities is difficult; and he is greedy

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Scribe hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has never given up on his painting dream.

Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. He is harsh and unforgiving.

History: Hunter was born with his father's beautiful face. Ostracized due to the psionic powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.

Motivation: Wishes to resurrect an old love; and to be a baker again
