History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Manfred was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Manfred's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Manfred and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: He was born into a rich family. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever

Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He bought a whip and has really upped his game hunting, due to his understanding of decoy and ambush.
