History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered east to less war torn lands. He tends to his Dilettante job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: He seems to be bored by most things; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic man, Gerard's first love is himself. His second love is also himself. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. In his 15th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Gerard alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of dire rats once and for all.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. His parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when he was still a young child. The dire rats captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: Money/treasure; and many dire rats want him driven away
