Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. Animals are drawn to him, and he is able to talk to them.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when goblins swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Ostracized due to the arcane powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Humans became a terror of the countryside. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
