Personality: He hates gnolls. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He has all his life been fascinated with poetry.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. A freak accident while working with his Bookbinder father left him crippled. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Gerard was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the gnolls.

Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with poetry. He constantly tries to fill his life with poetry. He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and he seems to be bored by most things
