History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his mother and father. His mother taught him the rudiments of the Knight arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Eccentric and domineering, Roland will drive conversation. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of illithids may trigger it at times.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and revenge

History: Gunter lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever he goes.

Motivation: He wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away; and many orcs want him driven away

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is used to getting what he wants. In part because he is a meticulous planner.

History: Born to a Painter, his father struggled to pay the bills. At a young age his father died while driving off some dire rats. His mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in longbow use. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He wants revenge against dire rats.
