Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He has dedicated himself to building a better world.

Motivation: He wants to meet his childhood hero; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

History: Simon was born the youngest of three triplets. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Mason arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He struck it rich when he found rare goods in large quantities. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
