History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He has achieved small success as a Carter.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Carter responsibilities is difficult; and wants to open a new tavern

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Adelard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared.
