History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Gerard is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Gerard hails from a village terrorized by illithids. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Gerard and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He considers himself the perfect gentleman. He makes a point to always show proper etiquette and frequently critiques the etiquette of others. He is cautious and jumpy. He reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Dean hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Through the years after Adelard was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Adelard's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

Motivation: Many illithids want him driven away; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
