He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Miner. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
