History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Ernest was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He was born in the east. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Shepherd hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Motivation: A deep hatred of illithids; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. His childhood dream was to be a Herbalist, but he was a colossal failure. He became a Dilettante soon after.
