History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. During his travels, Bertram and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Bertram discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Bertram fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

Personality: Soft-spoken and well mannered, he has an amazing amount of patience and a slow boiling temper. He is an amazing painter.

History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. His first spouse was a Sage, they had one son, but his spouse won total custody. Without his spouse to temper him he grew out of control. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found.

Personality: He's a bit of a prankster. He knows he is clumsy and seen as such and will often feign amnesia after injury. More though he will beg to come along on any journeys. He will attempt to stowaway on any ship he can in the hopes that it will get him further away.

History: A child with a great deal of dancing talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: His religion dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs

History: Gerard was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
