His father taught him the rudiments of the Merchant arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He became a Merchant soon after.

A gifted student he started as a Sculptor, but he got bored and became a Soapmaker. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: Marry his brother to traveling adventurers; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Gilbert grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Gilbert. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

His fair skin shows little sign of his aristocratic breeding.

Personality: He is cool and collected. He likes to make quips and puns whenever he does anything. He also makes a point to compliment his superiors and flatter them. He feeds upon the attention of others.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: To share knowledge with the world; and he is greedy
