History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Jocelyn was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. Through the years after Richard was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Richard's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He tends to his Banker job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
