Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. Being a Beggar kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it.
