Description: A middle-aged man, he is well dressed, constantly wearing a brown suit, tan shirt, and white tie, and is pretty ugly. With a patchy chestnut beard and wild chestnut hair. His eyes are likewise blue. His teeth are yellowed and unaligned.

Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: He does not care much for physical appearances, nor does he care much for other people. He does however care about what he wants and getting it. He misses his home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: Manfred hails from a village terrorized by giants. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Detective. He tends to his Detective job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the north; and to be a marshal again

Description: Relatively heavier built than your average man, he is not imposing. He does not wear sleeves and tends to eschew shirts when he can avoid it. He keeps his brown hair in a pixie cut. His gray eyes are desperate and heavily dilated. He has the appearance of someone under the heavy influence of drugs.

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. As he has aged he has sought to do reparations for his actions as a youth. He is also making sure that his compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: His necromantic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. Through the years after Peter was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Peter's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Being a Sage kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: He possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal; and a rival would like him out of the picture

Description: Relatively heavier built than your average man, he is not imposing. He wears dull black sweaters, loose grey pants, and alligator leather shoes. Beneath his sweater he keeps a concealed crossbow, just in case. His hair is cut close to his head. Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.

Personality: He barks his statements quickly and with little fuss. He prefers small words and is at his heart utilitarian. He lacks restraint and is impulsive. He jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

Description: He is an exceptionally muscular looking northern young adult. He wears a robe, a symbol of strength around his neck, and a lance on his belt. Beneath his clothing is a huge mess of scar tissue. He has a blonde handlebar mustache and slicked back blonde hair. His eyes are violet and beady.

Personality: Nicholas wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Fighter, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... He is always in debt, since he spends his money on lavish parties and gifts for friends

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Nicholas fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: He is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out; and to fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever
