He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Barber. He bought a quarterstaff and has really upped his game hunting, due to his understanding of decoy and ambush.
