He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

History: Gerard was born in the east. At a young age he loved to build and create. After coming to the age of reason, Gerard took it upon himself to study the arcane arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. When he grew older, he became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. He began work as a mercenary for hire. He would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.

He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Randal lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He was taken from his home at a very young age. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother.
