It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He struck the Knight job and began his own company from there.

He has dyed his greying chestnut hair a little too much giving a sharp chestnut color. He wears crescent spectacles with a black brim.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He is obsessed with finding treasure.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He was forced to fight in gladiatorial arenas alongside his partner. They became the best of friends and one day they managed to break out together and then went their separate ways.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found; and marry his brother to traveling adventurers

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Adventurer. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. Flattery will make him almost putty in your hands.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has worked as a Adventurer like his mother before him.
