History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Hugh was born on a far western island where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Layabout. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Roland embodies much of what other species detest in the Humans. He enjoys reading and quiet.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. After a long history of fighting, Roland and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He hates illithids. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He would rather hide behind his crafts than deal with other people.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Description: 5'5" and lanky with angular features, he is an attractive figure. He wears a brown costume with the symbols of the sun god on his torso. His blonde hair is smooth and relatively long. His face is feral with sharp distinguishing features. His spectacle hidden eyes are a deep violet.

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food he seems plenty friendly. He passes on several rewards to people in need. He makes a point to leave places better than he found them.

History: Born in the west to a Navigator, Bertram learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Bertram alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He's also a talented Animal Trainer, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Description: He wears rags and sports a simple walking cane. He carries a battered shortspear and tarnished crossbow as well. His golden hair is thinning but still full. His otherwise smooth face is marked with small tiny scars.

Personality: He likes to fabricate stories about his past exploits and how crazy he is, but in actuality he is rather bland. He is fiercely devoted to his mother, and views his mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
