History: John was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Fighter, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Fighter in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Bather. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Adam fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: Rolf speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. He is clearly well-traveled and educated. He also has developed a complete distrust of the Marshal profession.

History: Rolf was born in the east. At a young age he loved to build and create. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He found several beat up suits of armor and, cannibalizing spare parts, he put together a working one.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Detective responsibilities is difficult.

History: He was raised by priests from a young age. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: To prove his worth to the world; and a strong sense of loyalty to human people
