It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Description: This man is moderately tanned and has just the faintest trace of an accent. He wears a shirt that is too small, which lets his gut show, with a ratty yellow coat over it. He wears a Stetson hat to cover his moderate length blonde hair. His eyes are violet and catlike.

Personality: He is soft-spoken, optimistic and speaks nonstop, as he rather likes the sound of his voice. His demeanor is somewhat feminine. He keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to his own.

History: Gunter lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

Description: He is an average looking western male in his early mid-life. He wears a lot of dark rich colors, with gold accents. His chestnut hair is cut jaggedly and amateurishly. His eyes, though not visible through his cowl, are hazel.

Personality: Gunter wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Fighter, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... A true patriot, Gunter would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. When Gunter reached his early adolescence his Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. He guards a vault combo very seriously as well as the key needed to open it.
