History: He was born on a small isolated farm. He has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Description: This petite short man is perpetually holding a sweet of some kind. He prefers to wear tan clothing when he does not wear armor, marred by sweets. His chestnut hair is cut jaggedly and amateurishly. His gray eyes peer out from beneath his small tan hat.

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food he seems plenty friendly. The war was a terrible time for him, and Gerard does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: Gerard was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He's also a talented Bookbinder, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Personality: A deeply religious man he believes everything happens for a reason. He is a logical person and will generally grow upset if things defy logic and science.

History: His mother raised him in a mountain cabin. Bernard was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Bernard decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.
