History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. Bertram was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Bertram decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

His mother taught him the rudiments of the Herbalist arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. He worked as a nervous Herbalist and found it very stressful. He tends to his Herbalist job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

History: He was raised in a island tribe. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Map Maker. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Map Maker responsibilities is difficult; and wants to open a new tavern

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. His temper goes off on the smallest of things. He tends to lash out at those around him.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when goblins swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage
