Personality: He is happy with his job as a Miner. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. He is obsessed with his god.

History: Manfred was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Fighter, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Fighter in service of a powerful lord somewhere. A gifted student he started as a Jeweler, but he got bored and became a Miner. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Miner.

Personality: Conrad is a sociable creature first and foremost. He loves to listen to people at length before talking their ear off. He can carry on conversation for hours and will do so. When he's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, he's doing writing.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Gomory was born the youngest of three triplets. While he appears to be a normal Human, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Masseuse they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Shoemaker, and he later adopted a second son.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His childhood dream was to be a Bookbinder, but he was a colossal failure. He became a Mayor soon after.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and further expansion of business
