History: He got into the Gardener business at a young age. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Don alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and doesn't want to be a guard and was forced into it by his family

He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.
