He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Description: This petite short man is perpetually holding a tea of some kind. He is armored in gleaming platemail with gilded edges. A flowing violet cape and mantle trimmed with soft red waves gently in the breeze, marred by teas. He wears a wide-brimmed hat to hide his balding. His face is feral with sharp distinguishing features. His spectacle hidden eyes are a deep gray.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Gilbert hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Gilbert alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
