His smile is extraordinarily sincere though he does not smile often.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. His job bores him to no end. He has decided to make it more interesting.

History: Ralf lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.

Personality: He is enamored with his job. He loves it. He likes the challenge and he likes helping those less fortunate than him. He is fiercely devoted to his father, and views his father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: He was born at the edge of vast mountains. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Guard for hire.

Motivation: To be a Carter again; and wants his loneliness to end

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He desires power and/or immortality; and he is greedy

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered west to less war torn lands. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and he doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes
