History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He dropped out of school to support his sick father, and resented it. After a long history of fighting, Dean and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when gnolls swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Heward alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it; and many gnolls want him driven away
