He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

Description: This petite short man is perpetually holding a sweet of some kind. He does not wear sleeves and tends to eschew shirts when he can avoid it, marred by sweets. His chestnut hair is drawn into a tight pony tail with a butterfly scrunchie. His eyes are green and catlike.

Personality: Aside from being a little slow due to sleep deprivation he is generally quite perceptive. He notices little details and can draw good conclusions from them. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a gnolls raid, leaving Anselm alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by gnolls. Anselm was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the gnolls.
