His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Hubert grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Hubert. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. He was reprimanded several times before being given his current form and forced to learn humility.

History: He was born at the edge of vast mountains. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.
