Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Percival's homeland. Percival decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He was granted necromantic powers by his dying brother.

When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Sculptor hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has never given up on his singing dream.
