History: He comes from a rich northern family. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever he goes.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and a rival would like him out of the picture
