History: He got into the Shepherd business at a young age. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Shepherd. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Patrick lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Patrick was born on a far northern plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Blacksmith. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. He was a friend to animals and a trickster. In his defense of animals however he would do severe harm to people. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg.
