History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Theobald was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He's also a talented Butcher, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Simon alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Simon fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered painting. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

Personality: He is not truly malevolent, but he is obsessed with writing. He constantly tries to fill his life with writing. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the north.
