History: William hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. William was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. William decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his father. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Regain custody of his daughter; and wishes to resurrect an old love

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. John was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.
